BACKGROUND

Since July 2007 till early 2009, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) publication activity was placed under the Research and Innovation Centre. Beginning in early 2009, the Publishing Centre was set up to independently handle the university's scholarly publishing program. Under the transformation idea introduced by the university’s top management, it was rebranded in early 2013 and named as UniSZA Press.

With the intention to make UniSZA Press move forward as a well-structured, systematically and effectively, has led to the establishment of several units namely the administration, procurement-editorial, production and marketing units.

The development of multi-tasking skills based on family spirit amongst staff has become a core of strength that enables UniSZA Press to dynamically move forward to produce and disseminate more quality and impact scholarly publication. In addition, UniSZA Press continues to be committed and consistent in promoting 'UniSZA is everywhere' by publication of UniSZA Bulletin three times a year.

As of today, UniSZA Press has made impressive achievements. The publication of scholarly books and revenue generator graphs shows drastic increasement. Networking within the book industry has become more widespread and much stronger especially those under Malaysian Academic Publishing Council (MAPIM). The combinations of all these elements act as a catalyst towards making UniSZA Press a credible and a dedicated corpus of knowledge.
